The place

Unstaffed DNT cabin in a former railway keeper's house on the shore of Lake Mjøsa, in the northern part of the municipality of Eidsvoll (Akershus, Norway). Accessible via the Mjøstråkk, a 250 km cycle route around Mjøsa: about 45 km from Hamar and 25 km from Eidsvoll. Capacity 11 beds: ground floor with toilets, kitchen, dining room and a 4-bed room; upper floor with additional beds and a shower. Running water, electricity, bedding provided (bring a liner or sleeping bag). Open from Easter to the autumn holidays (cycling season). Run by Hamar og Hedemarken Turistforening. DNT key (membership required), payment via the DNT app or pre-booking. Benches, shelter, volleyball court, lake view. Dogs kept in a dedicated enclosure. Mobile coverage. Opened 1 May 2017; owned by the Norwegian Environment Agency.
