Pellisen kämppä
The place
Autiotupa (free open hut) run by Metsähallitus at the heart of the Morgamoja goldfield district (Lemmenjoki National Park, Inari municipality, Lapland). **Historic building constructed in 1949 as Morgamoja's Kultala / Pellisen kämppä** — a support base for gold prospectors during the Lemmenjoki gold rush (triggered by the Ranttila brothers' discovery in August 1945), with a post office, shop, and restaurant. Since 1975, the building has comprised two rooms: one free (autiotupa), the other a paid, bookable room (vuokratupa). A memorial stands near the discovery site.
