Moa Stream Hut

The place

Basic four-bunk hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Craigieburn Forest Park, north Canterbury (South Island, New Zealand), at 732 metres elevation. Free access. No DOC-marked track: independent navigation required with map, compass and GPS, training recommended before departure. Access to the Wilberforce River via Wilberforce Canal Road; prior permission from Glenthorne Station required unless travelling via the riverbed. Do not cross in flood or without safe entry and exit points; check NIWA flow data before setting out.
