Standard hut with six bunks managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park, central-south Canterbury (South Island, New Zealand), at 796 m elevation. No booking, payment at the honesty box: NZ$10/night adult, NZ$5 child (5-17 years), free under 5; Backcountry Hut Pass accepted. No DOC-marked track: independent navigation required with map, compass, or GPS. Unimproved river crossings: do not cross in flood or without safe entry and exit points.
