The place

Standard eight-bunk hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Mount Richmond Forest Park, on the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough boundary, Motueka sector (South Island, New Zealand), at 370 metres elevation. Rates until 30 June 2026: NZD 10/night adult, NZD 5 youth (5-17 years), free under 5. No booking required, payment via Standard Hut Ticket deposited in the honesty box or via annual Backcountry Hut Pass. Te Araroa Pass available separately at teararoa.org.nz for Te Araroa walkers.
