The place
Местийская хижина (Mestia Refuge) in the Greater Caucasus, in the Svaneti/Ushba area (Georgia), at 3215 m altitude, a high-altitude camp at the foot of Ushba (4710 m, the legendary peak of Svaneti, the "Matterhorn of the Caucasus"). Part of the continuous Georgia cluster (batches 231+237+239+241+242). COUNTRY ANOMALY: Georgia missing from the database (to be added). A classic alpine refuge for climbing Ushba, within the heritage of the Svans (a mountain people Christianized in the 5th century) with their defensive towers.
