Bivacco Marchi-Granzotto
The place
Bivouac shelter managed by CAI Pordenone at 2,170 m in the Spalti di Toro-Monfalconi group, at the heart of the Friulian Dolomites Nature Park. Built in 1963 and rebuilt in 1989 after being destroyed by an avalanche, it honours the mountaineers Renzo Granzotto and Antonio Marchi, who died in 1941. Open year-round and managed under user responsibility, it offers twelve bunks with mattresses and blankets. Water source about fifteen minutes' walk away.
Getting there
Several access routes: from the Val Meluzzo car park (Pordenone refuge) via CAI paths 361 then 359 in about 3 h 30 (difficulty E); from the Pordenone refuge via path 349 in 3 h 30 (EE); from the Giaf refuge via path 342 in 2 h 45 (EE).

Val Monfalcon di Forni in the Spalti di Toro and Monfalconi massif, within the Friulian Dolomites Nature Park.
