Mäntysalon kämppä vuokratupa

The place

Vuokratupa (a large tupa, with kitchen and bedroom) on the eastern shore of Mäntysalo Island in the northern part of Kolovesi National Park (Heinävesi, North Karelia). Former 1940s logger's cabin, renovated for current use in 2006-2007. Sleeps 14: 10 on communal bunks in the tupa and 4 in the bedroom. Gas stove and fridge, cooking utensils and dishware for 16. No running water; a well in the yard. Wood-fired sauna on the lakeside, dry toilet. Access from the south only by canoe, rowing boat or electric boat (petrol-powered boats are prohibited across most of the park); from the north via the Heinävesi waterway route, 2.5 km.
