Standard-category 6-bunk DOC hut at 351 m in Te Urewera (Bay of Plenty), Opotiki area. Facilities: mattresses, heating, non-flush toilet, untreated water requiring boiling. No fee, no booking, first-come first-served. To check before setting out: since 2022 Te Uru Taumatua (the operational arm of Ngāi Tūhoe) has been progressively withdrawing 44 huts from Te Urewera, and DOC now points to this inventory.
