The place

Sleeping places planned: 2 Mattress places: 2 Alpine pasture buildings housing cattle between mid-June and end of September. The smaller one, to the east, houses the herders and the cheese dairy. A small room open at all times is set up on the ground floor (a sign reading "bivacco" over the lintel), with two stacked bunks, mattresses and blankets, a table with benches and two chairs, a wood chest, a wood-burning stove, a broom, a shovel, fire extinguishers. No cutting tool. Outside, a large covered awning has two sofas, a large table with 2 benches, and a few chairs. For water: - a fountain feeds (in summer) a large trough a few steps away - a small lake (300 m to the SW) collects rain or runoff water BUT the cows are all around and occasionally drink from it, so the water absolutely must be treated! From the car park just south of the Col Duron (alt. 1000 m), a forest track climbs steadily south, then zigzags gradually south to emerge onto the pasture where the buildings stand. This track is wide, usable by tractors and logging vehicles, but closed to non-residents. Some very steep sections have been paved and grooved to prevent loaded vehicles from slipping or sliding off. From the pass, the path is marked with signs or blazes, no difficulty, about 6 km. Municipality of Bleggio
