The place
Alpine dairy hut at 1962 m in the municipality of Castel Ivano (Bieno-Samone, Trentino), at the foot of the eastern slope of Monte Tauro (2026 m). Part of the stalla (cowshed) has been converted into an emergency bivouac for hikers caught out by bad weather. A stop on the loop trails of the Rava Group (Lagorai-Rava-Cima d'Asta), notably the "Bivacco Argentino - Cima Ravetta - Malga Ravetta di Sopra - Bieno - Samone" loop from Pianezze, by mountain bike or on foot. Preserved alpine setting in the uplands of Vanoi / Tesino. Not to be confused with the nearby Malga Rava di Sopra, which also offers part of its casera as a bivouac.
