A one-room vuokratupa run by Metsähallitus Luontopalvelut at the foot of Mäkrävaara, 1.5 km from the Herajärven kierros trail within Koli National Park (North Karelia). A peaceful setting in an old-growth forest, witness to the ascetic culture of the logging camps. Renovated in summer 2021: capacity reduced to 3 sleeping places (from 4 previously). Open fireplace (avohella) and wood stove (kamiina). Bookable year-round via Eräluvat.fi, seasonal rate. Ideal for hikers and hunters seeking solitude.
