Maison Forestière du Bartat
The place
Old closed forest warden's house at 940 m in Ariège, an ONF property. Access from Prayols via a forestry track (unpaved): follow the forestry track with a hairpin bend and a barred path; 5 m after the barrier, another forestry track branches off to the right (invisible from the bend) and should be followed for 100 m. According to the latest report, the main door was locked and only the left-hand part (lean-to) was accessible, very dirty and unappealing. The lean-to can serve as a shelter.
Getting there
Le site se rejoint depuis le hameau de Prayol en empruntant une route forestière non goudronnée. À un virage en épingle, la piste principale est barrée ; il faut alors prendre une seconde piste forestière partant sur la droite environ 5 mètres après la barrière, et la suivre sur une centaine de mètres jusqu'à la cabane.
The setting
Bâtiment situé en forêt du Pays de Foix (Ariège), à environ 940 m d'altitude, en bordure de piste forestière. Une source d'eau fiable coule juste derrière le bâtiment. La porte principale serait verrouillée ; seule une partie du bâtiment reste accessible, en mauvais état.
