Luusniemi ("Bone Peninsula") in South Savo, Mikkeli/Puumala area (Finland), at a true elevation of ~90 m (the listed 0 m is erroneous and needs correcting). A mökki (forest cabin) on the shore of Lake Saimaa (Finland's largest lake, 4400 km²), within the heritage zone of the Saimaa Geopark (UNESCO 2020). Habitat of the Saimaa ringed seal (Pusa hispida saimensis, an endemic subspecies, ~430 individuals). Taiga of Scots pine, spruce and birch.
