Lugarnica
The place
Planinarska kuća at 872 m on the Mosor massif (central Dalmatia, Croatia), known as "Lugarnica". Destroyed by lightning in 1994 (total fire), it was restored and solemnly reopened on July 3, 1997. A single-storey stone building with a kitchen and wood stove, dining room, pantry, lounge, dormitory equipped with bunk beds for 20 mountaineers. Drinking water from a well inside the house, electricity from a generator. Managed by HPD Mosor (Hrvatsko planinsko društvo Mosor). Not to be confused with the Lugarnica in Paklenica National Park (simple catering along the Velika Paklenica trail) or the Planinarska kuća Alan on the Velebit (1340 m), the historic "lugarnica" of the woodcutters of Šumarija Jablanac.
