Lufsjå
The place
Self-service hut of DNT Oslo og Omegn, opened in 1970 and recently renovated, situated at 1235 m in the municipality of Tinn (Telemark), on the south-eastern edge of the Hardangervidda plateau. Set high up and exposed to the wind at the south-eastern end of Lake Lufsjå, with an open view over the vast plateau. Equipped kitchen, crockery and bed linen provided, self-service provisions shop; no electricity — gas, wood stove and candles for light, water drawn from the stream or the lake. At least one member of the group must be a DNT member and hold the DNT key. Seasonal closure linked to the wild reindeer calving area (1 May to 10 June) and winter closure from 15 October to 1 March.
Getting there
Approaches from Rjukan / Tinn (Telemark) or via the Hardangervidda traverse. DNT key required.
