Former lockkeeper's house on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal (C&O Canal, Brookmont, Maryland, USA), at 19 m altitude. Managed by the C&O Canal Trust as part of the Canal Quarters program. Stone building, private covered porch overlooking the canal, surrounded by mature sycamore trees, nearby parking, quick access to Georgetown, to the feeder canal, and to the Capital Crescent Trail (off Clara Barton Parkway). Sleeps 8. Modern comforts: electricity, running water, heating and air conditioning. Themed 1950s decor centered on Justice Douglas's hike to preserve the canal. Bring your own linens.
