The place

Standard-category DOC hut with six bunks, located at 837 m in the Lochinvar Forest Conservation Area (North Canterbury / Arthur's Pass). Fee NZD 10 adult and NZD 5 youth (5-17 years) per night, free below that, payable via standard tickets deposited on site or annual Backcountry Hut Pass. No booking. Access on foot via the Poulter Valley to Turnbull bivvy and East Poulter Gorge. Access via Mount White Station requires the landowners' permission, except via the Poulter Valley track on foot or by mountain bike. Map BV22, NZTM2000 E1519015, N5245991.
