Lobhornhütte
The place
Staffed refuge in the Bernese Oberland (Switzerland), open year-round, currently continuously staffed. Access from Sulwald is practicable; the route from Saxeten is temporarily impassable. The Lauterbrunnen-Grütschalp cable car is closed for upgrades until early July 2026, alternative via the hourly Mürren-Grütschalp train. Booking via alpsonline.org.
Getting there
Deux itinéraires pédestres principaux, praticabilité familiale (T2). 1) Depuis Sulwald (accessible en télécabine depuis Isenfluh) : environ 1h15 à 1h30 de marche, sentier varié et familial. 2) Depuis la Grütschalp : environ 2h30 de marche, itinéraire particulièrement panoramique. Accès général recommandé : train jusqu'à Lauterbrunnen, puis car postal jusqu'à Isenfluh, puis téléphérique jusqu'à Sulwald avant la montée à pied.
The setting
La Lobhornhütte est perchée à 1955 m d'altitude au-dessus de la vallée de Lauterbrunnen, dans l'Oberland bernois. Elle est réputée pour sa vue unique sur l'Eiger, le Mönch et la Jungfrau ; ses environs abritent une flore riche ainsi que le petit lac Sulsseeli.

From my childhood I've spent time in the mountains, climbing or skitouring, I've had many wonderful trips in different parts of the world, I don't get bored in bad weather either. […] I experienced work in a hut as a child as for many years my parents ran an alpine club hut. As an enthusiastic hut warden I look forward to meeting guests from many countries in the world. »
