The place

Autiotupa (free open wilderness hut) run by Metsähallitus in the Hammastunturi wilderness area, near Sotajoki (municipality of Inari, Lapland). **Named after the Lahti engineer Toivo Liljeqvist, who prospected for gold on the Ivalojoki river with his associates.** The site includes a hut, a toilet and a shelter. **Not habitable in winter.** Pets allowed with the agreement of other users. No rubbish bin — everyone must take their waste with them. Managed by Metsähallitus (information: Urho Kekkonen National Park customer service, Ivalo service point).
