A loggers' cabin or single-industry village sawmill (Bulanash, pop. 5,000, a former coal-mining town closed in 1994, now a declining single-industry town), located in a zone of southern taiga (Picea obovata, Abies sibirica, Betula pendula), reflecting the heritage of Great Patriotic War industrial workers (Nizhny Tagil's Uralvagonzavod plant produced 22,000 T-34 tanks, the world's largest tank factory of its time).
