The place

Free wilderness hut (autiotupa) run by Metsähallitus in the municipality of Salla (Finnish Lapland), located in the southern part of Salla about 3 km northeast of the south side of Vilmajärvi, on Lehtikorkia hill. Sleeps three, fireplace for heating; no stove, no gas, no sauna, no firewood supplied, no water, no toilet. Condition satisfactory. Metsähallitus maintenance is scheduled to be withdrawn in 2027: the hut will no longer be regularly maintained from that point on.
