The place

Former shepherd's hut restored in 2009-2010 by the Association des Amis de Saint-Simon et du Clôt l'Henry, set at 2090 m in a clearing in the Saint-Simon forest, on the heights of the Sommet Bucher above Molines-en-Queyras (Hautes-Alpes). A peaceful setting with plenty of water — a spring 15 m away, latrines 50 m away. Carefully kept interior: good insulation, plenty of cut firewood, tables and benches, decorations and photos, two mattresses for two people with a small blanket, a new stove, pots and dishes. Open access, first come first served, stays limited to one night. Project funded by the town council, the Conseil général, the Region, and the Fondation du Patrimoine.
