The place
Sleeping spots: 4 Spots on mattresses: 4 Hut in excellent condition, maintained by the association Tous à poêle. Water source nearby. Fairly busy due to its proximity. Inventory: broom, shovel, poker. Sleeping on a raised wooden platform, with mattresses and a few blankets. Table + benches (picnic style). Dishware (cutlery, plates and pots). A mini library for reading or swapping books. Spotless dry toilets. Several spots around for pitching a tent. Splitting maul*, saw* and sawhorse for cutting logs, under the woodshed. There is also some wood stored in the forest 50 meters below the chalet. It's good practice to bring some back up when you use it. Mobile signal: no signal, except a few very weak and fleeting bursts (Orange), by wandering around the area. Bouygues mobile signal by walking 200m toward the red lake. Note: This hut, like the unguarded huts accessible from the Gleyzin valley, is unfortunately regularly the target of vandalism (damage, sabotage) carried out without any obvious motive, and has been for several years now! From the Gleyzin, La Bourgeat noire, follow the Tour du pays d'Allevard (1h). ?
Getting there
Depuis le hameau de Gleyzin, suivre le sentier de La Bourgeat Noire puis l'itinéraire du Tour du Pays d'Allevard, environ 1 heure de marche.
The setting
Cabane non gardée du massif de Belledonne, en zone naturelle sensible (camping interdit sur place). Toilettes sèches, ustensiles de cuisine et vaisselle, petite bibliothèque, poêle à bois fonctionnel, source d'eau à moins de 100m. Capacité de 4 personnes sur matelas.
A word from the warden
Non gardée, entretenue bénévolement par l'association « Tous à Poêle », qui y mène des travaux de maintenance et chantiers participatifs réguliers.
