Laufener Hütte
The place
Self-catering alpine refuge of the Deutscher Alpenverein Laufen section, perched at 1726 m at the foot of the Fritzerkogel in the Tennengebirge, just south of Salzburg (Austria). Built between 1925 and 1926 by the German and Austrian alpine clubs, fully renovated between 1997 and 2000 with a complete upgrade of the energy supply. Category I (family-friendly, self-catering): drinks and soups on offer, with the option of cooking your own meals using the crockery provided. Capacity of 45 beds in dormitories on mattresses and 19 in smaller rooms. Staffed from Whitsun to 3 October, booking required. A central base for the climbing routes, loops and traverses of the Tennengebirge high plateau, as well as ski touring.
Getting there
From Abtenau or Annaberg, ascent via the Fritzerkogel trails. Booking required with DAV Laufen.
