The place

Vuokratupa (a bookable, fee-based cabin) run by Metsähallitus on the shore of Lake Pihlajavesi, near the navigation channel (Punkaharju nature reserve, South Savo, Finland). Road access from Punkaharju Kruunupuisto; the final approach is about 0.8 km along the shoreline. A locked gate on the road opens with the cabin's code. Narrow yard: maximum 2 cars. Yard facilities: fire pit, dry toilet, boat-accessible jetty. Easy access by boat from Pihlajavesi and Puruvesi via the channel.
