The place

DNT cabin in the municipality of Åseral, south of the Setesdal Vesthei (Agder, southwest Norway), at 845 metres elevation, in a snow-covered area well suited to winter games and activities right by the shelter. A complex made up of a main cabin and a security cabin, with a total capacity of 38 beds: main building with two ground-floor rooms of 4 beds each plus a mezzanine dormitory with 14 places, i.e. 22 places; security cabin with 3 rooms totaling 10 beds. Well-equipped kitchens with a gas stove and cooking gear, solar lighting, wood stoves, and the option to charge phones. Named in honour of Lars Gunnar "Lakken" Aanensen, who funded the building of the refuge.
