Standard DOC (Department of Conservation) hut at 38 m elevation south of Fiordland National Park, South Island, New Zealand. 6 bunks. Reached via a demanding tramping route through the remote forested valleys of southern Fiordland, between Lake Hauroko and Lake Poteriteri. Lake Poteriteri = the southernmost of the great Fiordland lakes, 40 km west of Tuatapere. Facilities: heating, mattresses, non-flush toilets, untreated water (boil before drinking).
