The place

CAS Monte Rosa bivouac at 2,428 m in the Laggintal valley, northeast of the Lagginhorn, accessible from Simplon-Dorf (Valais). 10 sleeping places, wood stove, emergency radio. Emergency shelter: no reservations possible, full self-sufficiency required (stove, cookware, sleeping bag). CAS rate 21 CHF, non-members 28 CHF. Summer access: 3 h from Simplon-Dorf via Weng-Antonius-Färicha; spring access via Bodme (4x4 track up to 1,800 m), Blaus Seewji and the pass. Base camp for the Wenghorn (2,587 m) and Lagginhorn (4,010 m).
