La Poutouille: A Charming Mountain Cabin La Poutouille is a mountain cabin located at an altitude of 1446 metres. Recently renovated, it offers accommodation for 8 people, with 6 places on mattresses. The cabin has excellent insulation, a wood-burning stove, a table and 8 chairs, a worktop, kitchen utensils, tea towels, a basin, a bucket, kindling, logs, and tools for cutting wood. A fully functioning fountain and latrines are also available. Facilities and Services The cabin is equipped with solar panels powering LED lighting as well as phone chargers. A contribution of 5 euros per adult and 3 euros per child is requested to help the association maintain and equip this very pleasant place. ‍ Access and Environment The cabin is easily accessible from Pré Bouillet. Heading up from Pré Bouillet, you can either follow the GR trail that passes near the cabin, or take the forest roads to the north between Le Gralet and La Poutouille to reach the ridges. Walking time is about 2 hours from Pré Bouillet and 1 hour from the resort to the south. The commune of Péron is close to the cabin, making it a fairly popular area, notably due to its proximity to Geneva. Availability and Booking La Poutouille is an unstaffed cabin. It is open year-round, with occasional closures for maintenance. No booking is necessary, however a contribution of €5 per adult is requested for use of the facilities. A collection box is provided for payment. Natural Environment The La Poutouille cabin is set within a preserved natural environment, offering visitors a peaceful, restorative mountain setting. Cost and Funding The cost of renovating and maintaining the cabin is funded partly by private and public sources. The contribution requested from visitors helps ensure the long-term upkeep of this unique place.
