Refuge du Risoud: An Authentic Shelter Deep in the Forest The Refuge du Risoud, owned by the commune, is a rustic shelter located deep in the forest. Originally intended for forestry workers, it is also accessible to walkers under certain conditions. Conditions of Use Use limited to a single day, with no overnight stays. Space to be shared with other users if necessary. Booking the space is not permitted. Fires allowed only in the stove, using wood found in the surrounding area. Full cleaning and removal of rubbish on departure. Monitored by the commune to ensure the rules are respected. Location and Access Swiss coordinates: 503510,161640 Route from La Thomasette towards La Grande-Landoz, then the Chemin du Creux-des-Biches. The shelter is on the right along the path. Cost and Funding The Refuge du Risoud is a communal shelter funded by the commune for the benefit of forestry staff. Its use by walkers is at the commune's discretion. Availability and Booking Open for day use only. No booking required, first come, first served.
