The place

Former cabin at the end of a barn in the Beaufortain (Savoie), at 1,716 m altitude on the "tour du Beaufortain" near the Col des Saisies. Very rustic original sleeping arrangements (hay in the back room) and a fireplace. Since September 2023, the building has become a restaurant and mountain bar ("Bergerie La Palette") — no longer a refuge open to passing hikers.
