The place

L'Ulysse in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, northern Alma/Saint-Ludger area (Quebec, Canada), at 656 m elevation, on the Laurentian plateau. Part of the continuous Quebec cluster (batches 234-242). An outdoor refuge (likely Sépaq or a zec) within the vast boreal forests of northern Quebec, an area of black spruce, balsam fir, and white birch. Heritage of the Bleuets of Lac-Saint-Jean and Louis Hémon's exploration writing (Maria Chapdelaine).
