Kvilldal
The place
Starting point for access to DNT cabins in the Ryfylkeheiane, located at Kvilldal (Suldal, Rogaland county, southwest Norway), near the Saurdal hydroelectric power station. Marked trail of 3 to 4 hours reaching Stranddalen turisthytte (staffed, 48 beds, run by Stavanger Turistforening). Most visitors reach Stranddalen from Øvre Moen or from Kvilldal. Whether this point itself counts as a hut remains to be verified; further information to be confirmed with Stavanger Turistforening.
Getting there
DNT hytte, Suldal. Road access possible up to Kvilldal and Saurdal power station. From Saurdal, 3-4 h marked walk to Stranddalen turisthytte (1000 m, Dyraheio protected landscape, Suldal). Connected to the DNT Setesdal Vesthei and Ryfylkeheiane network.
