The place
Small unstaffed cabin owned by Stavanger Turistforening, built in 1898 on a mountain pasture in Suldal (Rogaland), at 611 m. A building full of character: two bunks in the living room and six mattresses in a loft, for 10 beds total (6 of which can be pre-booked). Equipped kitchen, bedding provided, no electricity, wood-stove and gas heating. No food supplies stocked, guests handle meals and cleaning themselves. Open year-round but not recommended in winter. Free fishing for DNT members. Summer access 1.5-2 h from the Kvanndalsdammen dam (route 13); 4-5 h from Roaldkvam, 9 h from Haukeliseter. Hydro Energy works from 28 April-31 October 2025 may disrupt access to the dam.
