The place

Self-service DNT cabin east of Storsølnkletten, in Alvdal Vestfjell (Alvdal municipality, Hedmark/Innlandet), at 1,020-1,180 m elevation depending on the approach. **Some parts date back to the 19th century**, with a modern restoration and a heated emergency shelter. Capacity of 18 beds, 12 of which can be pre-booked and 6 available on a first-come basis. Facilities: gas heating, wood stove, full kitchen equipment; no electricity (candles); spring water to fetch. Summer: three marked routes from Dølbekksætran (2 h 30-3 h), Fjøshøa (1 h) or Kvislåsætra (forest road in poor condition required). Winter: 8 km ski tour from Dølbekksætran with permanent waymarking. Open from mid-June to mid-October, closed during reindeer calving season (Easter to mid-June) and in winter (mid-October to mid-February). Access via DNT key.
