The place

Iconic Swiss Alpine Club hut at 2,850 m at the Konkordiaplatz confluence of the Aletsch glacier, in the Bernese Oberland, managed by the SAC Grindelwald section. A hundred and fifty-five beds in high season, twenty in the winter room. Known for its metal stairways fixed into the ice, a consequence of the glacier's retreat over the decades. Panoramic view over the largest glacier in the Alps. Two seasons: spring season from March to May for ski touring, summer season from June to September. Helicopter access possible from Märjelensee or Jungfraujoch.
