Koliba pod Klinom
The place
Útulňa (emergency shelter) in the upper Račková dolina, on the yellow-marked trail at the edge of dwarf pine below the summit of Klin, in the Western Tatras (Roháče, Slovakia). Altitude 1426-1460 m — making it the highest koliba in Slovakia. Primary purpose: emergency shelter during stays in the Western Tatras (multi-night stays not permitted). Access in about 3 hours' walk from the campsite in Račková dolina; the climb up to Račkovo sedlo takes about 1h30 beyond the koliba. Formerly a salaš (pastoral sheep-herding hut), it now serves as a weather shelter and small exhibition on pastoral sheep farming. Owned by the Community of former residents of Pribylina, maintained by the Tourism Department of TJ Pribylina.
