The place
A rental cabin managed by Metsähallitus, fitted out in a former fishing support station at the southern tip of Selkä-Sarvi island, in Bothnian Bay National Park (Perämeren kansallispuisto), Kemi municipality in southern Lapland. A small 30 m² building sleeping four: bunks with mattresses, sheets and pillows, wood stove, gas cooker, dry toilet. An attached wood-fired sauna, a former fish-salting room converted for use, reserved for renters. No electricity, no running water: bring your own drinking water. Rate 75 EUR per night, accessible only from 1 April to 31 October. Booking via Eräluvat.fi, access by code sent after payment. Check-in 2 pm, check-out 12 pm. Access by private boat or water taxi: Metsähallitus recommends the excursion harbor at the north of the island, about one kilometer away. The Kalla refuge and Ailinpieti station are in the immediate vicinity.
