Kiosque du Sotré

The place

As its name suggests, this is a kiosk. It is small and so offers few places (4 walkers) around a table. Fully enclosed but not locked, it provides shelter from wind and rain for a break. It offers a magnificent view over Bussang. In very good condition — when I visited it looked recent. The nearest water point is a spring crossing the path at Gros Sapin, so not quite 10 minutes further down. From Bussang, head to the Plain de la Bouloie ski area. There is a parking area at the mountain rescue post. On foot, take the Chemin des Ormes, which takes you past the Chalet des Evaux (blue and white rectangle markers). About 2 km past the Chalet des Evaux, take a trail on the right (red and white rectangle markers); it leads to the junction known as "gros sapin" then climbs directly to the Kiosque du Sotré. Another possible route: about 200 meters past the Chalet des Evaux, take a green circle-marked trail on the right (about 1.5 km). It leads to a yellow circle-marked path. At the junction, right leads towards the Chalet des Crêtes; left leads to a junction between the yellow circle path, a red triangle trail (descending south), and the red and white rectangle trail (heading north) that takes you to the Kiosque du Sotré.
