Kintail Hut

The place

Standard 12-bunk DOC hut at 274 m in the western sector of Fiordland National Park (NZ). No booking: honesty box ticket (adults $10/night, youth 5-17 $5, under 4 free) or Backcountry Hut Pass. Didymo is present in Lake Manapouri and the Waiau River, absent from the Spey, Seaforth, Hauroko Burn and Lake Hauroko: avoid filling bottles in infected waters and follow Check-Clean-Dry measures.
