The place
Kinbreack is a Mountain Bothies Association bothy at 198 m elevation, a former byre of a shepherd's cottage in remote Glen Kingie, on the edge of Knoydart (western Highlands, Scotland). Renovated by the MBA in 1969, it makes an excellent base for climbing the many nearby munros. Main living space is upstairs. Less comfortable than A'Chuil (another nearby bothy) but usable; firewood is hard to find. A stopping point on some Cape Wrath Trail routes. Access on foot only, through the very lightly frequented Rough Bounds.
Opening
Ouvert toute l'année, gratuit (MBA).
Getting there
On foot only, through the Rough Bounds of Knoydart. Possible stop on the Cape Wrath Trail.
