Kerin Forks Hut

The place

Serviced ten-bunk hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Mount Aspiring National Park, Wanaka/Makarora area, Otago region (South Island, New Zealand), at 349 meters elevation. Access: 4-5 h from SH 6 via the Gillespie Pass Track (15 km), 2-3 h from Siberia Hut (7 km), or 7-10 h from Top Forks Hut via the Wilkin Valley. Rates until June 30, 2026: 25 NZD/night adult, 12.50 NZD child (5-17 years), free under 5. Payment by Serviced Hut Ticket (green) or Youth Ticket (red) deposited in the honesty box, or by annual Backcountry Hut Pass. Bring a sleeping bag, stove and fuel, cookware, toilet paper, rubbish bag, matches and a torch. Hut often full from December to Easter: bring a tent or spare mattress in high season.
