Kelman Hut

The place

A 14-bunk alpine serviced hut in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park (Canterbury), at 2527 m. Daily radio communications at 6:45 pm with weather updates broadcast to all alpine huts in the park; radio instructions provided on site. NZ$40 per night, NZ$20 for New Zealand Alpine Club members. Payment at the Aoraki/Mt Cook visitor centre. Backcountry Hut Pass and hut tickets not accepted — direct payment required.
