Traditional Hungarian farm buildings (kecske ólak = goat pens, szénapadlás = hayloft under the roof of a tanya, an "isolated farmstead" typical of the Hungarian plain), in an area of wooded steppe on the Miocene volcanic hills of Cserhát and near the course of the Danube 30 km NE of Budapest (a historic natural border of Ottoman Turkish rule 1541-1699, then Austro-Hungarian rule), heritage of the Hungarians (Finno-Ugric-Eurasian people, 10 million, Magyar language, a linguistic isolate in the EU with Ugric kinship to the Khanty/Mansi of western Siberia).
