The place

Former dam-keeper's residence managed by DNT Oslo og Omegn, on the shore of Lake Katnosa near the Spålen-Katnosa nature reserve (Oslo's Marka forest, Norway), at 465 metres altitude. Two-storey cabin, 14 beds across three rooms; electricity, gas hob, wood stove for heating, refrigerator and basic kitchen equipment. Three canoes available to guests (life jackets compulsory). Unstaffed cabin, opened with a DNT key reserved for members (advance booking required, adult reference person). Bring your own sheets; no parties or dogs, cleaning required before departure. Summer access: 3 h 30 walk from the car park via a marked trail, or 15 km by bike; winter access on skis over groomed trails, about 14 km from the Svartbekken car park.
