The place

Päivätupa (free day hut) run by Metsähallitus at the summit of Karitunturi, Posio municipality (Lapland, Finland). A stage on a roughly 30 km hiking trail that also includes the Riisitunturi and Ahmatupa autiotuvat (at the foot of Karitunturi, 10 people), the Karitunturi varaustupa, and five laavu shelters with hearth and toilets.
