The place
DAV cabin (self-catering, Munich section) at 1510 m altitude on a ridge west of the Kampenwand summit, in the Chiemgau Alps (Bavaria). Built in 1878 as a hunting lodge by Baron Theodor von Cramer-Klett (Hohenaschau castle), bought by the Munich section of the DAV in 1919. Equipped kitchen (wood + electric), common room with stove. 22 bunks in 3 dormitories (4, 6, 12 beds). A base for climbing and skiing.
