Kaltiolampi

The place

Autiotupa (free open wilderness hut) managed by Metsähallitus in the Ala-Penika area along the Lautiosaari-Puukkokumpu hiking trail (Martimoaapa, Lapland). The former Kaltiolampi tupa was demolished in summer 2017; a new building was moved from the Pisavaara nature reserve and installed at the current site. Renovated in 2019. Facilities: tupa, toilet, woodshed (liiteri), outdoor fireplace. The original cabin had served as a recreation lodge for Metsä-Botnia (Kemi Oy) and included a sauna in addition to sleeping quarters.
