The place

Unstaffed DNT hut located in the Fresvikjordalen, on the eastern edge of the Stølsheimen on the Fresvik peninsula (Vestland, Norway), near the Nærøyfjorden National Park (UNESCO World Heritage). The building sits at the place called Leitet, in a protected area east of route 13. Cabin locked with a DNT key, managed by ILModig and the Vik hiking association. Accessible by car from the E16 starting at Voss or Gudvangen, turning off towards Jordalen at the county boundary: a narrow, steep road, toll on the stretch towards Fresvikjordalen, about 16 km from the E16. On foot from Vik / Vikafjellet or Fresvik via an old summer-pasture trail. Status varies depending on snow cover and avalanche risk on the access road.
